Durango Mill | St. Marys, Georgia

The 750-acre site, once known as the Durango-Georgia paper mill, is Georgia’s largest brownfield site approved for residential development. Located in the town of St. Mary's, the paper mill was in operation for more than 60 years, closing in 2002. The abandoned industrial site will be converted into a mixed-use site. The development will include a navigational lock and inland harbor, community and transient vessel docking facilities, and a dry stack storage facility to provide both public and private recreational vessel use. The marine facilities to be developed will support the mixed-use opportunities in the community.
